A camera that copies pencil marks into the ebook
Becky Isjwara built a Codex app: an Osmo Pocket photographs paperback highlights, OCR reads them, and computer use marks the same lines in the Kindle copy. Readwise keeps the sync.
Becky Isjwara's app closes a small, annoying split in a reading life. The good line is in the paperback, underlined in pencil. The copy you search later is the ebook. A Codex-native app connects the two.
Every step is a different kind of seeing. An Osmo Pocket takes the photo. OCR reads the highlight. Computer use then drives the Kindle interface and marks the same line, the way a person would. Readwise is where the two libraries agree.
The agent is looking at a page you were holding.

I made a Codex-native app that can transfer highlights from my paperbacks to my ebook copies. Osmo Pocket takes photos and sees the highlight. Takes a pic, uses OCR, then uses computer use to highlight my Kindle copy. Everything syncs on @readwise ✨ https://t.co/wTD80t9QpA
