277,000 logic gates, then an OS, then games
Matt Shumer asked Claude Opus 5.5 for a working computer from scratch. It built 277,000 logic gates in JavaScript, an operating system on top, and games on the OS. There is a link. You can run it.
Matt Shumer asked Opus 5.5 to build a working computer from scratch. The reply, in his telling, is 277,000 logic gates in JavaScript, an operating system on top of them, and games on top of the operating system. He is explicit that this is not a mockup, and he posted a link so you can run it.
A picture of a desktop would have been cheap. Gates are a crueler artifact. They either compose into something that boots or they do not, and an OS that cannot launch the game on top of it fails in public. The stack is the joke and the proof: hardware, then system, then software, all as code.
The feature is the link as much as the clip. A video can be graded. A computer can be booted, and booted badly.

I asked Opus 5.5 to build a working computer from scratch. And holy fuck did it deliver. 277k logic gates in JS, an OS on top, and games on the OS. This isn't a mockup... it's a computer. Run it: https://t.co/nBnhJoqlUN https://t.co/bgXn5cigHu
