A turn-based JRPG, clean on the first pass
Niverg had Claude Opus 5 one-shot a turn-based JRPG. His review: on par with Fable, ahead of the other models he tried, no visual defects on the first pass, and combat that already feels balanced.
A turn-based JRPG is a pile of contracts: a party, an enemy, a menu that means what it says, numbers that do not explode, and a screen that does not tear the first time a spell fires. Niverg says Opus 5 one-shotted one. His comparison is not a studio. It is Fable, and the other models he has run.
Two details are doing the real work. “No visual defects on the first pass” is about the frame. “The game balancing feels right” is about the minute after the frame, when you notice whether the fight is a puzzle or a coin flip. One-shot demos usually buy the first and hope you leave before the second.
He thinks this one is on par with Fable and ahead of the rest. The clip is the fight you can use to agree or not.

Opus 5, turn based jrpg game test, one shot. On par with Fable, ahead of every other model I've run. No visual defects on the first pass, and the game balancing feels right. https://t.co/T5SLaatpn6
