A holographic card, made by Haiku

Ann Nguyen had Claude Haiku 5.5 make a holographic 3D card effect. Her note is the price: it is cheap, and it still works. A small model, a fussy shader, a card that catches light.

last week

Ann Nguyen’s holographic 3D card was made by Claude Haiku 5.5. The compliment is not that a frontier model can do shaders. It is that a cheap one works like a champ. Holographic card stock is a fussy little illusion: tilt, rainbow, a highlight that has to feel printed rather than stuck on.

Small models are usually asked for summaries. Asking one for a physical gag is a better test, because the failure is visible at a glance. If the sheen slides the wrong way, the card is a sticker. If it tracks the tilt, you forgive a lot of other roughness.

The post is a budget note as much as a demo. The effect did not have to be expensive to be worth tilting.

The brief was: introduce yourself.

Kevin Ngo asked Claude Fable 5 to make its own personal website. The joke is the assignment. The page is whether the model has any taste about itself.

Same sentence. The difference is the taste.

Kirill gave Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra the same brief: a 15-second motion-design showreel, go all out. He thinks looking at Astra hurts after Opus. The pair is the point.
