"HAUL" prologue, a world two years along
Dave Clark’s “HAUL” prologue opens a world he has been developing, on and off, for nearly two years. The clip is about five minutes. The time that matters came first.
Dave Clark has been developing the world of Haul, on and off, for nearly two years. The prologue he is releasing now runs about five minutes. The disproportion is the point.
A generated prologue can look expensive in a single afternoon. A world that has been returned to for two years has decisions in it that a prompt does not invent on the spot: what the place is for, who keeps coming back, which images belong to it and which were tried and dropped. He credits a team around Promise for helping keep these worlds alive.
Five minutes is a door. The two years are the reason there is a room behind it.

Watch the “HAUL” Prologue Now. For those who’ve been following along, I’ve been developing the world of Haul on and off for nearly two years. One of the things I love about building Promise is having an incredible development team around me that helps keep these worlds alive, https://t.co/VYJHFzWQyM
