A topographic map, three hours in Three.js
Zsolt Kacso has always loved topographic maps. He spent three hours in Claude Code with Fable and built one in Three.js: contour as sculpture, not as a texture pasted on a hill.
Zsolt Kacso likes topographic maps and wanted one in Three.js. Three hours in Claude Code, with Fable. The time box matters because this kind of art can eat a week of fiddling with line weight, and a week would have been a different story.
A topo map fails in a specific way: the lines have to describe a surface you believe. Even spacing on a flat plane is a diagram of nothing. Bunched lines are a cliff only if the light agrees. The piece is working when you want to trace a ridge with your eye.
Three hours is also a claim about the tools. Claude Code and Fable got him to a finished art object before the affection for the reference wore off.
