Language models, driving procedural worlds
Bilawal Sidhu’s argument: language models will dent controllable procedural 3D, manifesting what you ask for inside tools like Houdini, Blender, or Unreal. The clip is the dent.
Bilawal Sidhu is making a claim about the field, not about a single prompt. Look at procedural 3D, he says, and language models are about to matter: controllable world building, with the result landing inside tools people already use — Houdini, Blender, Unreal.
Controllable is the word to keep. Procedural graphics have been able to make forests for years. They have been worse at taking a sentence and changing the forest in the way the sentence meant. A language model is interesting here only if it is a handle on the procedure, not a texture generator standing next to it.
The clip is the evidence he offers for the dent. The post is worth featuring because it names the handoff: words in, an existing 3D tool still doing the building.

If you look at the state of the art in procedural 3d generation then you’ll quickly realize that language models will make a serious dent in controllable world building - manifesting whatever we want into existing 3d tools like houdini, blender or unreal. https://t.co/78H0SXYlZm
